WHAT WE BELIEVE

About God

We believe God exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and these three are coequal and co-eternal.
  • 2 Corinthians 13:14 NIV — May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
  • I Corinthians 8:6 NIV  — yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.
  • Matthew 28:19 — Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

About the Bible

The Bible is God’s word to us. The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and without error.
  • 2 Timothy 3:16 NIV — All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory.
  • John 1:1 — In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
  • John 1:14 —The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

About The Holy Spirit

Christians are people who have invited the Lord Jesus Christ to come and live inside them by His Holy Spirit. They relinquish the authority of their lives over to him thus making Jesus the Lord of their life as well as Savior. He indwells every believer, sets them apart for God’s service, sets them apart from sin unto righteousness, and produces in them holiness of character.
  • John 14:16,17 NIV — And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

About The Virgin Birth

Jesus Christ was conceived by God the Father, through the Holy Spirit (the third person of the Trinity) in the virgin Mary’s womb; therefore, He is the Son of God
  • Matthew 1:18 NIV — This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit

About Salvation

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ: His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts

Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV — For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast.

About The Church

The church is the Body of Christ.  Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Ephesians 1:22 — And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church.

About Eternity

People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or live eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and hell are real places for eternal existence.
  • John 3:16 NIV — For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
  • Romans 6:23 NIV — For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
